Migrating Contacts from iOS to Android

It was super difficult to migrate from phone to phone last time where you have to retype one-by-one if your total contacts are store in phone.

Today, things are much easier when you know the right touch.
When I first migrate from iPhone 3GS to Samsung Note2, it took some time to get things right.

If you use iPhone today & planning to change to Android, the setup is super easy.
Thanks to iCloud.com.

Steps:

  1. On iPhone, make sure your contact is synced on iCloud (Setting > iCloud > Contact is ON).
  2. On your new Android phone (give it to be Samsung, HTC, Xiao Mi, Hua Wei, Amazon Fire), Power up > Follow through the steps > Login your gmail account.
  3. Once you are in the operating UI, go to Setting > Account > Gmail > Detail > Disable Contact Sync.
  4. Go to PLAY Store > Search keywords "iCould sync" > There are plenty options inside.
  5.  I chose CardDav-Sync Beta (Cost USD$2).
    • Note:
      • Free version only support ONE-way sync (download from iCloud)
      • Paid version support TWO-way sync (download from iCloud & upload to iCloud when you add new contacts)
  6. Open the CardDav-sync app, fill in below:
    • Server URL: https://contacts.icloud.com
    • Username: your apple ID
    • Password: your apple ID password
  7. Enable SSL option
  8. Done. Your contact is to be synced shortly.
