Astro TV ~ Work Around with Busy Lifestyle & Astro B.yond PVR + Astro View App

As full time working couples, TV schedule is less relevant now due to long working hours.


A) DOWNLOAD?
At the same time, you may be too lazy to torrent download videos for consumption even though you have high speed broadband.  Reason being:

1. You do not have a media server to store video files
2. You are lazy to constantly search for latest video files
3. You do not wish to manage these downloaded files (clean up to free up space)

B) STREAM?

Of course, you may search and stream from some random websites after several failure attempts (spam websites).

C) ASTRO B.YOND PVR

Many do not know Astro has REMOTE RECORD functions.

• Requirement:
• Have Astro B.yond PVR Decoder (PVR is FREE with SuperPack subscriptions)
• The Magic 
• Just keep your Astro B.yond PVR Decoder always ON
• This method works even your PVR NOT connected to internet

Option 1 - Using Smartphone "Astro View" App (RECOMMENDED)

1. Smartphone (iOS & Android) Setup:
• Register at Astro homepage to create an Astro ID
• Link your Astro Account number (refer Astro bill) with your new Astro ID
• Download "Astro View" App from App Store/ Play Store
• Sign in with the Astro ID created
2. Access:
• Open the App
• Tap left top corner > Tap Top Shows > Navigate ALL/ by Language
  
  
  
• Tap the show you like
  
• Tap (R) at bottom left corner
• Your favourite show will be recorded when it is aired
3. Watch:
• When you are in front of your TV, Press PLAY button on your Remote.
  
• Choose your favourite program and watch
  
• Enjoy!!

Option 2 - Using Desktop/ Laptop

1. Laptop/ Desktop Setup:
• Register at Astro homepage to create an Astro ID
• Link your Astro Account number (refer Astro bill) with your new Astro ID
2. Access:
• Visit Astro TV Guide website
  
• Login
• Search for your favourite programs > Click program name > Click (R) 
  
  
  
  
• Your favourite show will be recorded when it is aired
3. Watch:
• When you are in front of your TV, Press PLAY button on your Remote.
• Choose your favourite program and watch
• Enjoy!!

• NOTE: "Browser" TV Guide experience on Tablet/ Smartphone may not be as good as laptop/ desktop due to RAM performance
